Making Pretty Girls – Photo Manipulation and You
One of the problems with photography, especially glamour or high fashion photography, is that you’re trying to show something that people will think is perfect. The illusion of perfection is what most people want and it can be sometimes be broken by too much sweat, too many wrinkles or an oddly out-of-place piece of body flab. After all, humans aren’t perfect and slight imperfections can be found in even the most beautiful of women. That’s where the art of touching up photos comes in.
In the past, if you needed to change anything about a photo, you would have to resort to using airbrushes. These old-fashioned photo manipulation tools needed a deft touch and some specialised bit of training to get the hang of it. This is because one misstep and you ruin the photo and have to develop another print. Part-painting, part-special effects, airbrushing was the province of professional photo manipulators.
Types of Photography
In this post we will explore different types of photography. There are several different directions one can go in with photography. You can even specialize in one or more of them if you like. Some types of photography will be discussed below.
There has been color film for many years for cameras. Most of the time people opt for a color photograph to be taken of themselves at their weddings, for portraits or for pictures that they take for their own pleasure. But, black and white photos also have their place in photography.
Photography Posing
If you are a model or photographer the following posing tips will help you improve your trade.
The first piece of advice that I can give the photographer or model is to relax. This is the key to warm and stunning studio photography. If the subject feels uncomfortable it will show in the final image. A good fashion or portrait photographer should develop a friendship with his subject. This will lead to better working conditions for both and will guarantee extra work for the photographer in the future.
Make sure that the model is happy in the clothes that she is wearing or she will feel uncomfortable and this will show in the final image.
Photography – One Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
Commercial Photography – what is it? It is probably best defined as any photography to which money exchanges hands. In this light money could be paid for the subject of the photograph or the photograph itself. Wholesale, retail, and professional uses of photography would fall under this definition. Commercial Photography can be split into different categories:
Advertising Photography: Photographs are taken for the purpose to illustrate and/or sell a service or product. If you are an advertising agency, design firm or in-house corporate design team you do best if you have a good selection of professional photographers to choose from.
